The North East Partnership was established in 2004 by a grouping of eight Councils in the north east region of Northern Ireland. The aim of the Partnership is to explore and develop a wide range of regional, inter-regional and cross-border development opportunities. The partnership is presently funded by the European Union INTERREG IIIA Ireland/Northern Ireland programme and eight member councils. The Management Committee
The 24 person Management Committee presently consists of one elected representative from each member council, the Chief Executive from four of the eight constituent councils and twelve social partners nominated by organisations in the private, trade union, educational, community and voluntary sectors.
The partnership held its first AGM in September 2004 which coincided with the appointment of Frank McGrogan as development manager. The following officers were elected to serve during the 2006/07 period:

Border Networking Opportunities
The North East Partnership seeks to encourage NE regional partners and organisations to fully investigate the sources of help and assistance available. Potential applicants typically need to submit their applications with one or more partners from other regions or countries in order to have their joint applications assessed. Similarly, it takes time to establish and build up relationships between partners.
